Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce

The Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce has been a part of the Franklin Southampton community since 1954. The Chamber provides a respected, unified voice for the business community. Connections are made through networking and legislative events and educational and motivational seminars. The Chamber is engaged in a variety of programs and activities that strengthen businesses and improve the overall quality of life of the community.

Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center

The Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center provides general information on how to start a business, business plan assistance, business information, business workshops, loan application assistance, business library access and free confidential business counseling for existing business owners or those starting a business. 

U.S. Small Business Administration

Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses. The U.S. Small Business Administration provides assistance primarily through its four programmatic functions: Access to Capital (Business Financing), Entrepreneurial Development (Education, Information, Technical Assistance & Training), Government Contracting (Federal Procurement) and Advocacy (Voice for Small Business).

Downtown Franklin Association

The Downtown Franklin Association works in coordination with the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development's Main Street Program in administering façade grants. The Downtown Franklin Association also manages the downtown visitor center and promotes the area by hosting numerous events and festivals throughout the year.

The Franklin Southampton Community Development Department provides planning, zoning, and permitting services for both the City of Franklin and Southampton County.
